Sound input problems with Mac Vent

I have my headset all plugged into the right ports. But nobody in my servers can hear my voice. Any idea what I can do to fix this? I've been messing around with everything in system preferences and in vent setup

normally macs require a powered mic or usb headset.
what type of headset are you using?
