I have a question about these lines of the readme:
Be advised that if your web/php server is running Linux then you must install the Linux version of the ventrilo_status program. Likewise, if your web server is running Windows then you must install the Windows version of the ventrilo_status.exe program. The same goes for all of the other supported server platforms. Installing the windows ventrilo_status.exe program on a Linux machine will not work no matter how hard you try. Now I could use either a linux or windows web server, but I cannot find the ventrilo_statux.exe program on ventrilo's website. With version 3.0 was this changed so you don't need the exe file anymore? |

My vent server is on a linux box, same deal?
Nevermind, I didn't realize what you were saying. Alright so I could get to a windows web server if I really had to, but are there any linux versions of ventrilo_status programs? I have the "ventrilo scripts" file off the downloads section, but not quite sure what those are for. Nevermind, again, I downloaded the linux server version, there was the ventrilo status. Actually another question --
Using the status scripts on the ventrilo website, it says: CVentriloStatus->Request() failed. No response from server But using another website, using same IP and port, I can remote status it (using their prebuilt scripts, but I'd have to use their php page with their advertising on it etc), it works just fine. Some of these sites include instantventrilo.com and ventrilolive.com. Last edited by FatBoyXPC; 04-06-2008 at 10:26 PM. |

It could be your webserver is firewalled (not uncommon) and blocking the inbound UDP connection from the ventrilo server. Bang off a correspondence with your web providor ask them if they can create a rule in the firewall to allow incoming UDP from the IP of your ventrilo server on the port that it uses - some providors do (mine did after a little persuasion).
