iSight+ proto7 and 9

I use a 12" PowerBook with ventrilo and I use my iSight's built-in mic. On Prototype 6, it makes my voice sound a little deep, which is not the end of the world. But when I've updated to 7 and 9, my voice gets really high and sounds very nasaly. I really would rather not sound like that, but if there is a major update to ventrilo and it still does that I do not know what to do. Any ideas on how to fix that or could that please be fixed in the next prototype?

My iSight works perfectly (as a microphone that is).

Try this:

1) Open Applications
2) Open Utilities
3) Start the "Audio MIDI Setup" program.

In the "Properties For" pulldown select the iSight.

Under Audio Input it should show you the format. What is it?

Better yet, post a screen shot after you do these steps.

Thomasj is correct.

I've found that sometimes Vent looses track of my iSight, or the iSight looses track of itself. This can often be alleviated by simply unplugging the iSight, counting to 10 (20 if your system is slower), then plugging it back in.

Also, from time to time, you may have to go to your Sound control panel, check the 'Input' tab, and work from there. If you don't see your iSight listed, do as above and un/re-plug the thing.

Not really... It does not loose track of my iSight, just ever since prototype 7, it will make my voice higher and as my friends say "nasily." If you want I can let you hear what I mean in ventrilo, but I have not been using anything past prototype 6, so as to keep my voice normal sounding.
