Default a big delay when i try to speak

sometimes when i speak, others don't hear it for a long time after. they said it took 2 minutes once, sometimes 10 seconds. sometimes it's instant

also, when i press "setup" it shows a strange error, i don't know what's wrong with either problem. and when i try to uninstall, to reinstall the program, everything is the same. i'll still have all my servers listed, my user names and everything. it's saved or something, i tried many things. i even tried to "repair" it with the installer.

please help, thank you

what OS and souncard are you using?
is the sound driver up to date? (try re-installing it)

does the vent 'ping' number get very high when it happens?

perform a traceroute to the server when it happens and post the results:

start > run > cmd

tracert serverhostname(found in server setup)

what's the error message when you enter the setup?

example:
C:/Users/Paul/AppData/Roaming/Ventrilo

Go to that folder and delete it. Thats what holds all your IP's and stuff...to get a clean install of vent delete it.
