Hosting vent; "Connecting to server" problem.

I'm trying to host a vent server, but I'm having problems. I was running it fine for a few weeks, but all the sudden it just stopped working. I have the port forwarded, firewalls open, and everything else set up. I run the files through terminal and when I open Ventrilo to connect it says "MSG: Server is available. Press connect." but when I press connect it says "MSG: Connecting to server." but doesn't ever connect. Also, depending on which username I use it will show the "Server is available" message first or just go straight to "Connecting to server". And yes, both user names have the same information. Thanks for any help is advance.

is your server running on a local pc or in a remote hosting site?

I'm running it on this Mac, but I can't connect to it any nobody else can either.

Do you have a static IP address at both your location and local Mac?
