Default How to Repair a recording file after unexpected shut off the machine

- How to repair a recording file, when there was a power outage or a hard reboot of the computer. (ie without normally stopped recording).
- Indeed, when starting playback of the recording, the file appears to be corrupted, the following message appears

- Can we repears the file with an editor software (Texedit)? And write a line means a good stop of recording ?

My configuration :
OS X 10.9.2 and Ventrilo 3.0.13

you can try but i doubt it will work.

you need a hex-editor app to view the raw data. you would need to know what other users were in the recording. with the hex editor, open a known good recording, preferably a short file, and look at the end of the file where the list of users in the recording is stored to get an idea of the format.

you can try to cut-paste one of the user markers just to see if the recording is salvageable.

if you're willing, upload the file, send me the link and i'll take a crack at it.
