Default talking on vent, not a simple resolution!

Im currently unable to talk on vent. the little speaker goes green and no one can hear me. im not muted. my mic is not broken. and i can hear fine.
i am using a G5 and the latest version of vent.

Did you try using the Setup -> Monitor and Test buttons?

When you click on the monitor button and talk into your mic, what kind of numbers do you see showing up?

Post screenshots of your sound preference pane (input and output) and your Ventrilo setup pane.

Well, you can change settings in your sound preference pane and your Ventrilo setup preference pane, but unless we know what's wrong, how can we advise you on what to change?

General advice: make sure the input device and input volume are set correctly in the above-mentioned places.
