Server Setup

Before I begin, the search button wasn't working for me.. but I tried.

I'm trying to set up a server on vent for a clan. I run on Mac, and have two (probably stupid) quick questions...

Are the setup instructions the same for UNIX as they are Mac?

If so... would anyone take the time to warp them a bit so that someone like me with less experience would understand?
