Hello,
I run a small guild for WoW and one of our members has a mac and cannot be heard over Vent or hear us. I've checked most the mic settings and volume issues, but I cant get her connected. I dont have her details, but was wondering if theres a flip of the switch for something to do to help her? Thanks for any help ![]() |

You need to configure your server for Speex codec and restart it.
I recommend the following settings: VoiceCodec = 3 VoiceFormat = 20 If you are using a professionally-hosted server, either the web control-panel or the tech-support department will allow you to make this change. Note that ALL Windows users should upgrade to the 2.3.2 beta 3 client when the server is changed to Speex to resolve a known voice-quality bug. |

Appreciate the help!
We received hosting from an outside company to do our Vent hosting. Do we contact them and ask them to upgrade to Speex? Also that tidbit you left; VoiceCodec = 3 VoiceFormat = 20 We are very very very technicaly non advanced. ![]() Where do I input that? some local action or do we need to contact our server? Thanks so much for your help! |

You ask your hosting company to configure those parameters in the server's ventrilo_srv.ini file and then restart the server.
