Hey hey!

In my experience, headsets that plug into sound out ports don't work terribly well on a Mac -- I believe USB is the preferred way to go. I have a Logitech USB headset that works flawlessly =)

Be aware though, concerning Ventrilo, that if the server is not set-up to use the Speex codec, you will be able to neither hear nor talk using the Mac client, regardless of what kind of headset you are using ...

do you think vent will come out like windows does? where i can go onto any server no matter what? and how do i fix it where the green light even appears.

Yes, speakers should work fine with that port -- headsets with microphones, not so much so ;-)

USB will make your life so much easier in this regard =)

That would be the ideal, yes. I'll leave it for the devs to speak (or not) to future plans =)

I would hope that using a USB headset might clear that up, if I'm understaning the problem correctly =)

I have a logitech usb headset, worked fine w/ teamspeak, but I lost all audio whatsoever after getting the mic to work for vent. Any suggestions?

So if i get a USB headset and plug into my mini, should work fine? My guild in WoW said they are completely up to date on Vent software and still same problem...i hear the program...hear everyone signing in and out, but no sound coming from my speakers...can see their horns light up green too as they speak.

A USB headset will work. So will an analog headset with a converter such as the Griffin iMic.
