Ill start with i am not new to computers, and if you read the posts to the ?MSG**** referance and you are unable to telnet it may be left over old firewall stuff or another program perhaps a bot of some sort.

with that said go thru ALL of your running processes on your machine for ALL users if you dont know what it is google it... find a page referance you are comfortable with reading and is in normal non coder tounge..lol ... if you kill a process and it comes back on its own you have and issue with an old firewall or virus/bot... this will take time to do as most of us have at least 50 running at any given time. yes there is software to help you with this but beware of the SCAMS ADS "we have detected a virus on your machine click here" do that and your STUPID most are scams and will destroy your machine, i just rebuilt my friends machine because of this...

g2g have back apt...

enjoy and play on!

Have the devs even recognised this issue as a problem?
I can't find any news item or sticky stating they have acknowledged the issue and are investigating.

The latest version simply doesn't work. It should not be this difficult to get a client and sever to even connect running on the same local machine or local LAN.

Default Grrr...

Well as most others have said here my vent just stopped working a few days ago...Anyways im using Vista and have tryed some of the stuff here.
The server is updated and is accessable, have other guildies on it right now. Anyways basically the trecert goes okay. But i get this error when doing the telnet:

'telnet' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

Whats up with that? I can do everything else on the net just fine. Do i need to DL some updates for my comp? Hope someone has some ideas here.

Heres the tracert btw just incase its needed:

The way to find out telnet is not installed by default in Vista.
To solve this, just enable it : Click Start, Control Panel, Programs, and then Turn Windows Features on or off. In the list, scroll down and select Telnet Client. Click OK to start the installation.
turn it on and try it again also check probots post theres good stuff in there also
