Default "enable overlay support" error in WIN-7

Hi, i m getting "Hardware overlay could not be initialized" error while i try to "enable overlay support" in Ventrilo[Windows 64bit - All 64bit platforms (Version 3.0.8)].

Detailed error message:-
Hardware overlay could not be initialized

Error code = -4
Description = Out of video memory

I have a new laptop XPS L502X(bought 2-3 months back), which has Win-7, i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.00 GHz, 6GB Ram, NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M.
I have already tried these options so far:-
--> "Vista on nVidia tweak to force display of overlay"
--> "run as administrator"
--> Compatibility set for Windows 7

I have used ventrilo in my older laptop (it has XP) and "enable overlay support" feature was working fine. While playing WOW its really annoying if u cant see the name of the person who is speaking in the vent, cause "overlay support" feature is not working .

Just to mention, when i check "enable overlay support" win-7 changes color scheme to win-7 basic, prlly cause this feature disables "Aero glass display system".

I'd like a response to this, too. You've described my problem exactly; I think the only real difference is I have the M555 card instead of 525M. I've tried installing the 64 and 32 bit versions, and all of the things you describe as well. Very unhappy-making. =(

that error message is actually coming from the video card. make sure the nvidia driver is up to date.

i'll do some research to see if those mobile versions of video chips supports overlay.
