My voice is fading out

Hi all
im currently having 2 problems with my ventrilo...
first aint that baad, but many people say it sounds like im sitting on a toilet, the sound effect that would give...

the secund more anoying seriusly problem is that i some times fade out, as if im moving further and further away from the mic, witch i aint XD...

first i thout it would be the mic since my headset is abaut 4 years old, however i use the same mic/headset on my other computer witch aint having any of these problems...

secund i thout it might be couse by some program i have had open but checking what i have open every time it happens just dosent give anything either...

have had a shitload of other ideers what it could be but i cant seem to figure it out...

at this time im getting rather desparate... cant have 2 computers turned on all day becouse of this and i cant play on that old peace of junk where it aint a problem XD

a few facts...

troubled computer
windows vista, 32bit
sounds card is something like Realtek high definition audio

on the other comp where vent works fine
windows xp pro
onboard soudcard

COOL!!!!!

try going to the realtek audio manager/speakers tab/sound effects section and disable all effects (environment=none)

select the microphone tab and mute the playback volume
