PTT being suppressed?

I've recently run across trouble while trying to use PTT. My PTT is set to left-ctrl and have previously not had problems with this. This new problem has my PTT not working with WoW running full screen. If I minimize WoW it works again. Not really sure why that's happening. Any info would be helpful.

If you are running Vista/Windows-7/8 and Push-To-Talk, try setting both Vent and any online game to ‘Run As Administrator’ (rt-click their icon / properties / compatibility tab / privilege level) or (rt-click their icon and select 'Run as Adminitrator')
