Default WoW & Vent

Hi all,
Ive been having this problem with vent/wow for some time and its really starting to get annoying.
Problem is when i play wow and theres more than 1 person talking, it seems my vent ping jumps to 500-2k. I get big spikes so i only hear half of what is being said and its ~5 sec late. If i then minimize WoW my vent ping goes back down around 40-50 and it just plays everything at once.

I havent always had this problem but im not sure when it started either. Like it gets worser for every day. I have a decent computer and a good connection. I have tried updating drivers but its an old motherboard i got and havent been able to find any new ones. I also tried setting process priority to high, but this only seemed to help minimal.
I never get DC tho, from vent.

How can i fix this?
Thanks

This issue is directly related to network traffic. I'm not saying that your ISP is slow, however, a few users in my vent have had the same issue, with Lineage 2. I specifically made them a channel with a lower codec, and they've not complained since.

They live in EU and connect to me (New York server).

A few answers would defiantly help us some.

Q: Do you have a router?
Q: Does your Modem (DSL/Cable) have any built in settings (firewall etc.)?
Q: What is your 'bandwidth' (provided by your company)?
Q: What version of windows do you have?
Q: Whats your CPU/Memory?

These are all very relevent because they all effect network traffic. It could be as complicated as a bad NC or simply a traffic error.

The codec is 'Speex'.
my old vent server from previous guild is GSM 6.10 and never had trouble with that. Dunno if it has something to say.

I just dont understand how it can work perfectly for months and then suddenly, without me changing anything, start to mess up.

1. as a test, can you get the server admin to create a test channel and set the codex to a lower format of speex to see if it still does it.

2. make sure the lancard driver is up to date.

3. monitor the cpu usage when it happens

4. do the speedtest check the next time it happens

Due to lack of raiding i have not been able to do this test yet, but im still trying out different settings tho.
I noticed one thing tho a few days ago, when i was on standby. I was standing outside the 'instance' while on vent with the rest, and even tho many people spoke etc i didnt get those spikes. My ingame fps was at this time around 50-60 and when im raiding, and usually have the problem, my ingame fps is around 15-20.
Not sure what this means, or if it means anything at all? I dont know very much about this stuff

Could it be that my computer is just getting too old to handle both wow and vent with so many people on? or maybe my connection is too slow, which i doubt tho.
