Guest "See Channels" disables talk

everything works well, but i've been having an issue with some guests, so wanted to turn off the "see channels" selection in the user editor.

so unchecked they cant see the channels, which is good. And they can transmit, which is also good.

but under certain conditions they cant see or hear members in the same channel.

this behavior is dependent on who joins last;

• if the 'guest' joins last, members can see them but cant talk to them, but the new guest can talk to the members (but cant see them).
• if the member joins last, they CAN talk to guests that had joined earlier. and they both see each other.

any ideas? or just a bug?

I have the same problem and I think it is a Ventrilo bug. Together with "See channels" turned off is another options like "See non-guest accounts" and "Receive broadcast streams" (if guest is in channel without registered users in current session).
