Vent is fine out of game, but ingame it chops

Does anyone know wuts wrong with my Vent?
I use it out of game and its fine. But when I go into game, it chops until i tab out and then it catches up. I also got some errors popup sometimes saying something like my sound is going too fast, and my sound will be turned off and to check directsound or something like that but it is checked.
I don't think its my soundcard cuz I used Vent a few months back on the same computer and it was fine. And now I use it again and it's doing this.
Please help! I don't wanna have to reformat.
