Default Vent connects and immediately disconnects

In the past, vent connected now and then, I'm unable to remember anything I did to make a change re connecting or not. For the last 3 months or so, it connects, immediately disconnects and then of course keeps retrying.

I'm on a mobile broadband card, XP media edition, realtek onboard sound.

I've read 16 pages on this forum, didn't find any help.........thoughts?

I'm having the same problem.

"what does the vent browser display in the Pass column for your servers? rt-clik in window/view/server browser "

I do that and i see a 'N' in the pass window. I have tried everything else as well. I'm using Vista Home Prem x32. I see it trying to sync, but immediately disconnects and tries to reconnect.

Edit: When I hit connect, I see it contacting server, going to sync'ing then it goes straight to auto reconnect

the 'pass' column indicates whether or not the server requires a password in order to join.

verify you have the correct server info - http://ventrilo.com/status.php

are you located in the US? if yes can you connect to this test server?

frost.pure-voice.net
port=3784 no password

perform a traceroute to the server when it happens and post the results:

start > run

cmd {hit enter}
tracert serverhostname(found in server setup)
