Default Ping Problems

Fellow vent users...

I am having some major ping issues and am unable to figure out why. I will post information below if someone could make a suggestion on how to proceed?

My ping goes from a low of 60 to a high of around 20,000. I have seen this happen where there are 2 users connected as well as 8.

ISP: VerizonFIOS (PA)

Speedtest.net Results:

PC Info: Windows 7 / AMD FX8120 3.1 GHz / 8GB RAM / NVIDIA GTX 660

how long does the vent ping stay at the high numbers?

can you capture a trace when it happens?

what other apps are running when the ping spikes?

does it spike at specific times of the day?

--The longevity of the high ping is very random. It seems to fluctuate between 58 and 700 quite frequently but all of the sudden jump into the thousands. Once it does that it usually stays there for roughly 60-90 seconds.

--I will attach a screenshot from pingplotter.

--FFXIV:ARR and normally an instance of Chrome

--It spikes anytime I am on, no matter the time of day.

there is a good bit of packetloss in that pingplotter that could be causing you problems. this is typically intermittent.
