Ok
Im trying to run a vent server for my team, nothing big, just a 15-20 slot. The server could be down arond night or whatever, but yeah. Is it possible to host the server on a webhosting? If so, please tell me the requirements! I have no idea, like, what specially would you need to have if you were to install it on a webhosting, like a normal...10$ monthly webhosting. If im missing anything, or stuff, please correct me, I wont take it like a kid. And if you have any advice, please feel free to fill in! ![]() |

You can install an 8-slot server if you have shell access to your web host...i.e. you can run commands. This assumes that there is not currently another Ventrilo server running on that host.

Running commands is not hard. You would simply install and configure the server for the appropriate Unix system. If the webhost is a Windows machine, you're out of luck.
You may need to run the ventrilo_srv program using nohup, to prevent it from exiting when you close your SSH session. If what I've said does not make sense, I'd recommend finding a friend with some Unix experience to help you out. |

Yeah.
My webhosting says it has SSL Manager and in there I see Private Keys, Certificate Signing Requests, Certificates. Would that be enough? To run it? Thanks And yeah I need to find a friend, but most of my friends are either php coders, website coders, amxx coders...etc |

No. You need SSH access.
