Thumbs down Ventrilo fails to download

I am unable to download vent. Each time I try I get the message "the installer has encountered an error that has called installation to fail." My firewalls are down, software updated(I even recently upgraded to Snow Leopard but was unable to download vent in the last OS either). IS there anything else I can try?

Doesn't sound like a download problem to me. Sounds like an installation problem.

This may be the issue:

The only reason I have my doubts is I first tried to download it using Leopard, and only this past weekend did I download Snow Leopard. Did they both have the same problem?

I think the first question is identifying if you are having problems downloading the software or installing the software.
'Downloading' is the act of moving the data from a web site to your computer.
'Installing' is the act of installing it once it's downloaded by double clicking an installer document.

So, when you go to the vent downloads section, and click the link: Mac OSX 10.4 or higher - 32bit (Version 3.0.4)

and then click the Agree button, what happens? Does it download so you then have a document in your downloads folder called

ventrilo-3.0.4-Darwin-universal.pkg.zip

If you do, and you then double click on it, what happens?

As of Monday morning, try running your Software Update to 10.6.1 and see if that helps if it is failing when trying to install.
