A few questions

Just downloaded vent since my guild just set up a server and I can connect just fine, but I can't here/say anything. After browsing here I discovered the gsm/speex issue. Guildmaster says it's configured to speex, but I keep getting error messages saying it's GSM. Any idea what's going on?

One other question. Does speex truly degrade the quality of sound for windows users? That's what the person running the server keeps saying. Not sure if I believe it, but I don't know the answer.

Help please?

If the mac client is saying the server is not configured for speex. then the server is not configured for speex.

No. Speex does not degrade sound quality. If they think so then I'd ask them to produce proof.

speex does not degrade the sound quality.
if the server ini file was changed, then the server needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect.
