Speex issue

a friend of mine sounds low and distorted on her server I noticed that their server uses SPEEX 32khz codec she sounds fine on my server when i use GSM 6.10 44Khz

She uses Ventrilo 2.3
she has Win XP (non-SP-2)
( I just told her to get SP2)
(I also suggested to download Direct X 9.0c)

Help?!?!?!?
I feel like the numanuma fat kid with out the Romanian lyrics

ensure everyone is running the latest beta windows client.
