IP Flood Protection

Hello,

I have used Ventrilo and have hosted my server for multiple years. However, recently I have had my server victimized by spam floods. The typical connect and disconnect flood spam with long phonetics.

My question is, is there anyway to setup a way so the Vent only allows a username and an IP connect 1 every 30 seconds lets say?

To end any questions now...

Yes, the server is public and it must remain that way. The only form of "security" is that we have a Guest Lobby where Guests cannot switch channels from and can only have 1 IP on at a time. Is it full-proof? No, but as I said, we need it to be public to allow people onto our server.

We register those that we plan to have back around.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

have you tried setting any of the spam filters in the server properties?

rt-clik / server admin / server properties
