First off I am STOKED that us Mac guys have a vent client now - thanks!!
My server admins converted us over to speex and everything is working fine - except the folks on my server can't hear me. My computer/vent just doesn't seem to be recognizing any Mic input. I have gone to the control panel and made sure all my audio in and audio out settings are correct both in my system and my vent control settings. I dont have my mic muted and this is the same mic/headset I use on my PC so I know its not a hardware issue. I have also tried the universal access fix for using my push to talk key. I can't seem to resolve the issue. Any suggestions?? |

It could still be a hardware issue. For some reason, not all mics that work with PC will work with your Mac. I tried a couple of headsets I had laying around for use with a different voice over ip application. The only one that worked was the one that came packaged with ViaVoice for Mac... but I have since bought a USB headset by Plantronics. Both of those work well with Ventrilo, but the other ones I tried don't work with any of my voice programs, but they do function on PC.

For me the mic was not self powered so it would not work. So i bought a usb connection that powered the mic and it works like a charm.
