perhaps im dumb... admin question

I have what I'm betting is a real simple problem, but just seems like a quandary to me.

I'm trying to give a few users the ability to ban/kick/move other users from/to various channels and vent itself.

I've set them up with these checkboxes selected in their account.. no luck.

however, if I ALSO checkbox the "server admin" checkbox they can then do it.

the problem is this also gives them tons more power than I want them to have - i simply want them to be able to ban/kick/move users and nothing else.

Am i doing something wrong or is this just not possible?

I think I ran into that a few years ago... If I remember correctly....

Go to server admin->User editor (connect to server, right click on Vent Window->Server Admin->User editor

You should have a list of users in the left column.

Select the user you want to give privileges too, then check the Chan Admin Tab and all of the channels are listed in the Current list.

In the Admin tab, check everything other than the Server Admin checkbox.

Then, and here is the important step... In the info tab, make sure they have a distinct password. Tell the user the password and have them change their Vent setup to log in with the user name and the password you gave them.

That should take care of it.
