Default My ventrilo server is down

Hello, I'm looking for any assistance that can be provided. The Ventrilo server that I assisted with hosting went down sometime yesterday for unknown reasons. The server was with Typefrag.com. I have tried to call them, email them and use their chat feature but I can't get a response. It's like they've closed up shop without any kind of notification or indication that they were doing so. It's still paid for at least another month so we're unsure why it went down and we can't get a response from anyone at typefrag. Is anyone able to assist or point me in the right direction? I assume people still use Ventrilo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

can you ping the server?

{from a command prompt}

ping (server hostname or ipaddress)

also try to telnet

telnet serverhostname port#

(where serverhostname={the server ipaddress or hostname of the server you’re trying to connect to (found in vent client server setup)} and port#={port associated with that server}
(example: “telnet 75.125.43.51 3784” or “telnet www.myserver.com 3784” without the quotes)

If Telnet is able to connect then the screen will go blank. If not, then you will see an error message about not being able to connect.

Hello, thank you for replying to my thread in a timely manner

I just tried to ping my vent server (tef-rpd.typefrag.com) and it came back with all four received successfully. However, with telnet I wasn't successfully. In my command prompt I typed "telnet tef-rpd.typefrag.com 8800" but came back with the result ""Connecting To tef-rpd.typefrag.com...Could not open connection to the host, on port 8800: Connect failed"". Would you be able to provide any additional suggestions as to what I should do next?

P.S. I attempted to send another email to typefrag.com on their website this morning as to my current issue. Hopefully I'll hear something back soon but I won't hold my breath
