nevermind. our ventrilo provider allows us to switch to other voip servers at no cost. mumble seems to handle our needs. we did try to make this work. but ducking not working was a deal breaker.

It would be nice if the old Ventrilo 2.3.X code branch was open sourced so I could add in the above functionality while keeping its simplicity (sticking to what appears to be the Win32 API for most functions.)
I second this, let us at least help on the client side.

update:

there is still an issue that absolutely must be resolved before the win10 fix can be released. I don't have any more details other than that at this time.

and yes, the main page icon is being adjusted for proper appearance on different platforms.

to all: i apologize for the lack of updates but i just didn't want to post a 'no update' . it was not a case of ignoring everyone.

Old thread, but I've looked around to see if there are any updates on ducking in Windows 10 and haven't found anything. How's the fix coming?

Thanks for the updates, Omicron and Prog-Rocker. It'd be great to get even a remote ETA on the update, but I understand if that's just not reasonable.

Vent's been a solid program for many years and while there are more modern tools, it's still very good at what it does; for my use (WoW guild with some in North America and others in Australia) its voice quality still beats the rest in terms of lack of auto-tune and dropped audio.

That said, it sure is cool to be able to have the sound from the game on, but be able to hear when others talk.

I've just went back to my windows 7 pro. after trying many times to do the free upgrade and failed everytime during the installation process. Through my frustration in trying to deal with the issue I decided that its just not even worth fussing over. Microsoft really do need to step up they're game and fine tune these newer OS before even releasing it.
