MSG: Synchronizing - STUCK!

So, I moved from a cable internet (router hardwired to comp) to a satellite internet connection (hardwired to a router) to find that everything is the same except one thing... Cannot connect to Vent. It always sticks on Synchronizing. I am running Win XP , I do have firewall turned off .. I have a Linksyx WRT54G V.2 wireless router that I did open my vent server's port for. I tried to ping on the command screen and I received 4 packets back so I'm going to assume that the connection is there but what gives? Am I missing something?

a pal of mine is stuck at the same point... dont now much of his connection, some sort of edimax routher i think... hes been on our guild ventrilo before but suddenly it got stuck on the synchronizing....
