Problems when logging on a specific server

When i log into one of the vent server i use alot, it all seems to work, but then once it gets to the screen that shows the channels and such, it only shows, a small computer with the server name and my user under it and no other icon or channel or user. I cant hear anyone else either. Any ideas on fixing this? Other people have been logging onto the same channel without a problem. i have also tried reinstalling the program too. Any help would be great.

have the server admin check your user account on the server. the generic user profile may need to be applied.
