No sound with Prot. 16 and Leopard

I have just installed Leopard and 2.3.2 prototype 16. I can connect to my guild's server but I can never hear more than 3-4 seconds of others talking. Often I don't hear anyone but the most I can get of anyone's transmission is 3-4 seconds.

I tried the test button in setup with the same results. Prior versions of Vent worked well with prior versions of mac os.
