I have my PTT set in Ventrilo for Mouse Button 5 on my Logitec G700S gaming mouse. It works, however, when I am holding the #5 mouse button down to talk, I cannot use any of my hot buttons in WoW. So, I can't talk while fighting.
I just got a new PC and this G700s. I did not have this problem before on my old PC and mouse. In fact, I have been using Vent in WoW since vanilla on several PCs/Mice over the years and have never had this problem before. The Logitec forum has been no help. Any suggestions on how I can fix this will be greatly appreciated. jj |

in the logitech c-panel for the mouse, is button 5 setup as 'generic' or assigned a different function?
also try this, rt-clik in the vent main window > misc > gui ignore keys in vent setup, enable 'direct input to detect hotkey' also try setting 'discard hotkey' (uncheck the detect first then re-check after setting discard) |

I tried all three and none helped.
I remembered how I've always had it before. Prior to this, Vent never recognized the buttons on the side of the mouse. So, I used the "End" key in Vent and assigned the side button to that key. I did that and it works. However, I have the problem I have always had. If I am trying to read something on a Web page to a friend over Vent, I have to move the focus off the browser to something on the desktop before I hit the PTT or jump to the bottom of the Web page. I had hoped that since Vent now recognized the button, I could eliminate this minor problem. |

ok, Let me try to reproduce this with my G500 and the latest LGS software.
can you post the following plz: DXDIAG Start > Run Dxdiag Click the 'Save All' button File is saved to the desktop as "DxDiag.txt" Copy/paste the information (up to, and including, the [PS/2 Devices] section) to the forum. The information might have to be separated into multiple posts due to the maximum character limitation. |

I posted my question to Logitec a couple of days before I started this thread. I just got a response from them.
They suggested doing what I did - assign a keyboard key to mouse button 5 and then using that keyboard key as the PTT in Ventrilo. Sigh, maybe you guys will come up with a better idea. |

sorry to say that assigning a key is the only option. i will suggest using a 2-key combo as that would unlikely be used in games.
ex: shift+grave / ctrl+grave vent will recognize modifier keys + regular key |
