iphone ventrilo client?

now that the SDK for the iphone came out do you guys think about porting a client to the iphone/ipod touch?
i'd really love to see that happen even though it'd be a challenge with the little arm cpu :/

It seems to me like this would be more a novelty than a practical implementation. I'm not saying it's not possible, but it's likely not going to be a priority. The CPU could probably handle it, I'd think the limiting factor would be the audio API, as the phone is made to run only one thing at once.

Could be fun, but i'd hope for feature parity on the main clients(even a linux client) before something like this.

Too bad VOIP is only allowed over Wifi.

At the very least you can detect that it's on EDGE and still log on, just can't hear anything or say anything (limited to using comment line).

I'm not sure if it goes with the:

Vent on the iPhone would blow my mind. As an officer in a adult mega-guild on guild wars...this is just too good. Please keep us posted, and let me know if there's something i can do to help.

Any word on if this will be coming? Would love to be able to talk with my friends in the guild while traveling or where I can't access a computer with Vent.

It's being worked on as one of my active projects. Was hoping to release a prototype during quakecon but ran out of time.

I love to talk to my gaming pals when on the go becuase I just so bored and this would be sweet!!!!
