External authentication

Does ventrilo currently have the ability to employ external authentication of some sort (AD, NIS, LDAP, RADIUS, pick yer poison)? Even better, phpBB2?

I'm currently using a hosting provider, but I've never had more than 6 people on the vent server at a time. If there was some way to tie authentication to the server into my existing apparatus, I would host it myself to take advantage of that.
