need info on how to change codecs

so, I'm having a bit of trouble with my Guild because they use GSM 6.10 and I can't hear or talk using vent, but I can't find any info for my guild leader on how to change the codec to Speex.

Can someone help? They're not going to go out of their way to fix something that's not broke to them, so I have to do all the leg work if I want them to change it. Thanks!
