Look in your router configuration again and see what is has listed for your WAN address, this is what you should be giving out to friends so they can connect externally. Sites like whatsmyip.com don't always give the correct information - my isp used to use transparent proxies to connect clients so sites such as those gave the IP address of the proxy server rather than of my modem.

Fire-up your router config page in your web browser again, click on 'Internet WAN' and see what IP address it has listed, this is the IP address your friends should be using to connect to your vent server.

*** k just solved it myself. I bypassed my belkin and just used my wireless dsl modem. And found the wan....i was posting info on the router not the actual connection. Thanks for your ideas all**** Last edited by Oshat; 02-08-2007 at 02:32 AM. |
