Default Gmotd impossible to get rid of?

The Guest message of the day just will not go away.
One day I decided to post a Guest message of the day, and it proved to be annoying. So I did what I thought would remove it, clear the box and hit 'send'. I opened the Gmotd again and it was clear, but when guests logged onto my vent they said it was still there. The "Always display MOTD" is unchecked and I have ran out of ideas.

Hope someone can help.

Thanks,

~Zelthas

are those users seeing a blank gmotd box or is the original text still being displayed?

from the help info:

The Guest MOTD is only sent to those users who do not have an account created on this server. It is always displayed at login as well, unlike the regular MOTD which is only displayed if it changes or if the Server Properties has dictated to always be displayed.

The original text that I had put there. Clearing the box and hitting send doesn't seem to do anything.
