I am having the same problem but i am not on SBC I do no think that is the problem cause if it was than you would have disconnect with all your program not just vent. My started two days ago and it is really starting to piss me off every 5 min I get disconnected. I did a ping test of 100 and not one packet was lost I also did Tracert and I am only 16 hops away from the server. Is everyone with this problem on a rounter and if so whay type of Router do you have.

That was my first thought, too. So... I took my router out and ran with my computer connected directly to my DSL modem. Problem did not go away.

I play Wow and it disconnects while I'm playing. BUT it also disconnects while I'm not playing. And I do believe that I am also on SBC, not really sure how that would be having a problem with ventrilo begining a few days ago.

Guys its not wow, i get disconnected all day long, some days and others not at all. Though recently it seems i have been getting it really bad.

And i loaded it on a few diff pc's in my home network and it happens to all of them at different times. Random disconnects on an idle PC. And its not whole internet connection, just seems to be vent. And when it happens you can be talking to yourself for 5 mins or so, then you get dconn'd and when you come back in there are more than one of you in the channel, and after 5 mins or so your "ghost" gets dropped.

I really hope someone can figure this one out. Only happens to me on that server too. My ISP is SBC (ATT) DSL, and i'm using a Dlink router.

Since it's clearly not everyone, just some of us, let's look for common factors.

NForce4 chipset MB, Athlon 64 processor
Onboard ethernet and soundcard (AC'97 CODEC)
GeForce 7800GT graphics card
SBC DSL internet
Vent server host that is giving me grief is voice2.cgservers.com, haven't tested others

NForce2 chipset MB, Athlon XP processor
Onboard ethernet SB Live
ATI X850 XT
SBC DSL internet
Vent server host that is giving me grief is dallas4.nationvoice.com

I ran a continuous ping to the above server and when i got dconned the ping went bad and dropped packets like a mofo.

I have been also getting those annoying kicks, just me and a friend of mine gets them. It is very annoying for me and my clanm8's who play on Americas Army. It either shuts down and comes back up or doesn't shutdown but i am talking to myself and finally get connected again. I have no clue what it is but this is very annoying for me.
