Default Ventrilo Problem on Win7

I have a problem with Ventrilo. My settings are correct for Ventrilo. I just can't seem to hear anyone talk. They are able to hear me speak through my mic. For some weird reason. They can't hear me at all.

for windows 7

in vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs, set the output/input device to enable 'use directsound' then set the name to that of the audio device you're using

when others are speaking, do you see their icons in green or yellow

on vent main window at bottom, are the 'mute' boxes unchecked?

Is your system sound configured for 5.1 or 7.1?
(XP - windows control-panel / sounds / click the ‘Advanced’ button in the ‘Speaker Settings’ section / speaker setup input box setting)
(Vista/Win7 – windows control-panel / sounds / Playback / select speaker device / ‘Configure’ button / Audio Channels)

If yes then:
Goto Vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs / SFX button / Directional / Add “Front Left & Right 5.1 (or 7.1)”
