While keeping the Hardware Input Mixer (Optional) > Mixer set to None, have you tried to run through each Device that you just now listed one by one? Change the Input Device to a different Device and click OK. Once you have done that, you can try to talk on your server or simply open the Setup menu again to utilize the Test feature.

None of those worked, only the mic (USB ...) gave me alot of screech with somewhere in the middle of it something that could be my voice if you really pay attention.
It's weird because in TeamSpeak and Skype it works perfect and I'm very clear. |

I tried it with another mic now, just a simple plug-and-play one. And it too doesn't work..

If you open your sound properties, do you currently have any type of noise cancellations, acoustic cancellation, bass enhancers, amplifications, etc. enabled?
You can also double-check the device by opening the Setup menu of Ventrilo, followed by clicking 'Recording (Input)'. You can try to toggle the device accordingly to see if this helps alleviate the issue. Furthermore, are you currently using an aftermarket sound mixer/sound card? You can also go to the manufacturer's website to see if there are any Audio Driver updates available as well. |

I solved it, under setup in Ventrilo, the outbound amplifier was set to +10, and that caused the distortion, I've put it to 0 and I'm crystal clear now.
Thanks for the help though, it is really appreciated you are so helpfull. ![]() |

I'd be interested to see if this works for other, or even me...
I've had issues with this for years and with multiple headsets. Vent mic works one time in 10 for me with no obvious reason why (works fine in other apps). It struck me that it's not Vent or Windows Sound thats screwed... it's something to do with the drivers of (mainly) USB sound cards. I rebooted my PC and made sure the USB headset was turned ON BEFORE Windows started (it's the wireless Turtle Beach PX3). Suddenly worked no problem. Sometimes it's like the mic just doesnt get detected by Windows. No rhyme or reason to that. But a reboot can fix it. I'd be interested to see if others find this to be the case. N |
