Default Mic not working in Ventrilo

Good evening,

I bought a new headset today (Trust USB 5.1 Surround Headset) and to my surprise my mic just won't work in ventrilo.

It works perfectly fine in skype, teamspeak and windows recorder.
But it won't work in ventrilo..

Any help would be appreciated.

PS: I'm using the same options for ventrilo as I use in skype,.. being Mic (USB multi-channel audio device).

does your icon turn green when keying up?

in vent setup, try setting the input device to enable 'use directsound' then set the name in the dropdown box to the Trust usb headaset.

re-run the test

what version of vent are you running? is it 32 or 64 bit?

can you post the following plz:

Do you currently have any options selected in the Mixer, Mux and Line fields below the Hardware Input Mixer (Optional) field?

If you do, try setting the Mixer to None and the remainder of the fields should default back to null (empty) - and then test your microphone again.

If you currently do not have anything in the Mixer, Mux and Line fields, what other options do you have available in the 'Input Device' drop-down box?

I've put the mixer to none, and it didn't work. Just some screeching with a very vague glimpse of my voice through it.

Input device options:
Default DirectSound Device
Line entrance (USB multi-channel audio device)
Microphone (USB multi-channel audio device)
SPDIF in (USB multi-channel audio device)
Stereo in (USB multi-channel audio device)
Stereo in (Realtek High-definition audio)
