ventrilo lags (2 computers, same network)

Hello,

im having a big trueble using ventrilos from 2.1-3.0.5 and at the same time playing an online game with my brother (we're on the same ventrilo server and also in the same game server), both vetrilo and the game lags the hell out when we talk at the same time. Using xp on both 2 computers, asus wl-500gp router and don't experience lag if either of us isn't on the same ventrilo server. I would appriciate if anyone would have some helpful information about this.

[FONT=Verdana]Perform a traceroute to the server when it happens and post the results:

start > run[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]cmd {hit enter}[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]tracert serverhostname(found in server setup)

[FONT=Verdana]Try powering off the modem-router-pc (in that order) for at least 60 seconds each (this will clear all cached data)[/FONT]

[FONT=Verdana]Try re-installing or updating the router firmware. Check the manufacturers website for your make/model[/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana][/FONT]
[FONT=Verdana]just to test, try connecting directly to the router using ethernet cables.[/FONT]
