Problem with VT in games - nothing helps :(

Hi, we (me and my friend) are trying to use VT while playing games and we have a problem - everything is ok until we start the game (DDO)... It runs without problems for some minutes, but then, suddenly, I can't hear him... We tried it again and again, but every time the same thing happens several minutes after starting the game... His icon is changing color when he speaks, I just can't hear him... But I find very surprising that when he restarts VT, I can hear everything he said before and I didn't hear it

I'm running on win 7, he has win XP. We are using 2.1.4 version, 'cause our server is not compatible with newer versions

We both set our priority to high, but it didn't help.
We both tried to turn off 'play key clicks', also didn't help.
Anybody knows what to do with this annoying problem? :/

I would be happy to assist you with this issue. First make sure that you are running both the game and Ventrilo as Admin. To do this, right click on both icons on your desktop and click on "Run as Administrator". Also you will want to enable the “Use DirectSound” option for the Output device in 3 sections of the Setup menu. These sections are outlined below with some images to reference when making the changes to your client. Please let us know if you continue to experience this issue.

Setup -> Voice
