Unhappy will not connect to a vent server

My freind and I tried to join a server today

port 5452

and he went in fine, and me well, it wouldnt let me at all, i have tried everything I could think off, dleteing the program then re-installing, nothing, tried running as an administator, no luck their. i have no idea why i cant connect, bit lost to be honest D=

I was also able to connect to this IP and port without any problems. Are you displayed any errror messages, or does the server sit at "Contacting"?? Try disabling any firewalls on the system (router, anti-virus, etc.). You may also need to add Ventrilo to the "Allowed" list on any anti-virus software you have running.

might i also suggest looking at you process list... read the sticky in the main forum.
?did you change firewalls, did you go from free to boxed version.
?spyware blocking it maybe.

try to telnet the ip or host, there is an example somewhere in the forums to do that.
if you can not telnet... you will never connect.

ping just tells you its there, telnet will do the same in a different way, in laymans terms.


ps also in your next post please tell us the error message as stated above by JT.
