I admit that Ventrilo has been kinda put to the wayside with the rise of other programs like TeamSpeak and all, but it's still got a special place in my heart lol. Just add that speex codec back for all the dudes that really loved it!

Hi there, is there any update with you guys adding the speex codec to ventrilo 4? None of the new opus codecs are able to compare to the wide range of options that the speex codec offered. Appreciate it greatly if you guys could add back speex.

Yes, I find the lack of response from the Vent admins pretty disappointing. I'd love to find out if Ventrilo plans on adding speex codec back into ventrilo 4 any time soon. I and the rest of the people in this thread are eagerly awaiting a proper reply from the Vent team.

If this was something google could answer, then I definitely would have done so already. Clearly, there's nothing that can be done when the new Ventrilo 4 completely got rid of the speex codec. Hence why I'm pleading the vent developers to add it back in as an option for those that prefer it. After all, it's not like they would be forcing anyone to use it, it would just be there as an extra option in the list of many codecs already available.
