Speex sounds like junk

When will the GSM codec support become availible? My server went down to Speex 32khz 16bit 5520Byte/sec and it sounds way worse than the old GSM codec we used to use. Any suggestions?

try using
Speex 16KHz, 16bit, 9 Qlty

that is what we are using on the test server and is a nice balance of quality and bandwidth.

simliar bandwidth byte transfer as GSM 22Khz
