My vent can't hear me when I am in game

If I am in vent with my buddies and not in game they can hear me just fine, and i hear them. If I join a game server they no longer can hear me when I talk. This is across all games. However, if a game has a windowed mode available, when i run it in windowed mode, they then CAN hear me. I am a long time vent use who just got his new PC up and running. Some PC specs Windows 7 x64 The mic i am using is temporary, its from a USB web cam until I can find my old mic On board sound, realtek gigabyte board. If any other specs are needed let me know.
