Will Mac version ever support GSM?

I am trying to get my MAC to work well with other people on the server, but the server is not set up to support speex codec. Will the MAC version of vent ever support GSM? And If not is their a logic argument to give to the 100+ people on my server to help convice them that they should have the server switched to Speex?

Yes, in the next major release the codec issue will be solved. We do not know when the next major release will be and Flagship isn't going to tell us until it's ready.

Speex generally provides the same or better voice quality and generally consumes a little less bandwidth. However, ALL Windows users must upgrade to the 2.3.2 beta 3 release to fix a known issue with Speex. If some people don't upgrade because they're not having problems, they may cause problems for others.
