Default Cancelling Desktop Noises whether in game or not

When i am on vent, not only do they hear my voice, they hear the in-game noise as well. They hear all desktop noises actually. And if we are both speaking at the same time, he can hear himself through my vent side.

How do i prevent this from happening?

I got realtek hd audio manager and i am using headphones with a mic attached to it. I am also using windows XP

1) Operating System = XP
2) Sound Card = Realtek HD Audio Manager
3) Game being played = WoW
4) Your Ventrilo Setup - Screen shots if possible.
