Default problem: new headset..

All noise is sent to my headphones, music, in game noise, even keyclicks and the sound produced from people logging on and off vent. Yet all communications, anyone talk at all, is sent to my speakers.... I have no idea how this problem is occuring, I've even tried unplugging my speakers and all that did was make it so I could not hear anyone at all...

Any solutions? please?

in vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs, set the output device to enable 'use directsound' then set the name to that of the headset.

is the headset USB? if yes, is it plugged directly into the pc's usb port or thru a usb hub?

Is your system sound configured for 5.1 or 7.1?
(XP - windows control-panel / sounds / click the ‘Advanced’ button in the ‘Speaker Settings’ section / speaker setup input box setting)
(Vista/Win7 – windows control-panel / sounds / Playback / select speaker device / ‘Configure’ button / Audio Channels)

If yes then:
Goto Vent setup/voice-binds-speech tabs / SFX button / Directional / Add “Front Left & Right 5.1 (or 7.1)”
